Product pictures from Shopify on your quotes

If your products already have pictures on your Shopify website, your quotes can show them. PlanIt reads your shop once a day — it never changes anything there — and matches each product by SKU or barcode, or by a pairing you make.

    Make a read-only app in Shopify

    In Shopify admin go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps and press Create an app; call it PlanIt. Under Configuration → Admin API integration tick read_products only and save, then under API credentials press Install app and reveal the Admin API access token. It starts shpat_ and Shopify shows it once.

    Connect it

    Open Integrations → Shopify product pictures, enter your shop’s .myshopify.com address (Shopify admin → Settings → Domains) and paste the token, then press Connect. PlanIt checks the shop and reads your products straight away; the page shows how many now have a picture.

    • The token is kept sealed on the server — it never comes back to a browser, yours included.

    Check how they matched

    A product matches when its SKU is the same in Shopify — capitals and spaces don’t matter — or when one of its barcodes is. Waiting for you lists the products PlanIt won’t guess: two Shopify pictures for one product (press the right one), a pairing whose Shopify product has gone, or a match with no picture in Shopify.

    Pair the ones that differ

    Where your Shopify SKUs aren’t the same as PlanIt’s, use Pair a product: find the product, type the SKU it has in Shopify and press Pair. A pairing always wins over the SKU and barcode.

    Send a quote

    Every quote now carries each product’s picture: a thumbnail beside the line on the PDF, the lines with their pictures in the quote email, and on the online quote the customer approves. Untick Show pictures on quotes to send them without.

Questions merchants ask

How often are the pictures refreshed?

Every morning, and whenever you press Refresh pictures now. A refresh that can’t finish — Shopify down, a token taken away — changes nothing, so a quote never loses its pictures halfway.

Does PlanIt change anything in my Shopify shop?

No. The app you make only has read_products, so it can read products and nothing else.

What if I uninstall it?

Quotes stop showing pictures and the pairings you made are forgotten. Nothing in Shopify is touched.
