PlanIt EPOS

Case studies

What we will and will not claim

PlanIt EPOS is a young product with a small number of merchants using it in earnest. We would rather tell you that than pad this page with invented figures.

Why this page is short

Software marketing has a well-worn pattern: a page of logos, a quotation with no name attached, and a statistic — “42% faster at the counter” — that nobody can check. It is easy to produce and it means nothing, and merchants know it means nothing.

We are not going to do that. When we publish a case study it will name the business, name the person, and describe what actually changed, including the parts that were awkward. That takes longer to earn, and it is worth more when it arrives.

What a PlanIt EPOS case study will contain

  • The business, named, with the trade it is in and roughly its size
  • What it was running before, and the specific problems that prompted the change
  • How the move was done, how long it took and what went wrong during it
  • What is measurably different now, with the merchant’s own words on it
  • What they would still like the software to do that it does not do yet

That last point is the one most case studies omit, and it is usually the most useful one for somebody evaluating.

Speak to a merchant instead

In the meantime there is a better option than reading a page we wrote about ourselves: talk to somebody using the software. If you are seriously evaluating PlanIt EPOS, ask us during the demo and — with their permission — we will put you in touch with a merchant running it, so you can ask the questions we would not think to answer.

They will tell you what the first fortnight was actually like. That is a far better basis for a decision than a quotation on a marketing page.

What you can verify today

Everything on this site describes software that exists and works. During a demo you can ask us to do any of the following live, on your own data:

  • Import one of your supplier PDF price lists and review the extracted rows
  • Put a sale through against an account that is over its credit limit
  • Disconnect the internet mid-sale and carry on trading, then watch the queue sync
  • Receive a partial delivery against a purchase order and check what stock does
  • Allocate a payment across several invoices and produce the statement

If something does not work the way this site says it does, that is a much more meaningful finding than any case study.
