PlanIt EPOS

General trade counter

Trade counter software for independent merchants

Most trade businesses are not one of the big three. If you sell to trade customers over a counter, from a yard or off a van, PlanIt EPOS configures to your products, your units and your language rather than forcing you into someone else’s.

What it handles

How PlanIt EPOS works for general trade counter

Each of these is a working part of the platform, not a roadmap item.

01

Configurable products

Categories, units of measure and product attributes are yours to define — lengths and grades for timber, sizes and finishes for ironmongery, sizes and colours for workwear.

02

Your pricing structure

List prices, trade bands, contract prices and quantity breaks, in whatever combination your business already uses.

03

Counter, yard and account sales

Cash sales, card sales and account sales through the same till, with the paperwork each one needs produced automatically.

04

Stock that matches reality

Locations, minimum levels, adjustments with reasons, and a movement history you can follow when a number looks wrong.

On a normal day

Three situations this was designed around

Software for trade is judged on the awkward moments, not the demo path.

A decorating centre

Colour-matched paint sold by tin size, trade accounts for local decorators, and a reorder point on the fast-moving bases.

A timber merchant

Stock held in lengths and grades, cut-to-size sales, and delivery scheduling for the loads that will not fit in a car.

An agricultural merchant

Seasonal demand, bulk pricing, farm accounts on 30-day terms and a counter that also sells workwear and fixings.

Questions

General trade counter: common questions

Our products are nothing like electrical or plumbing. Will it fit?

The product model is configurable rather than fixed. You define your own categories, units of measure and attributes, so timber lengths and grades, workwear sizes or paint finishes are first-class fields rather than notes typed into a description.

We sell to both trade and retail customers. Is that a problem?

No. Retail customers can be served as cash sales without an account, while trade customers get their band or contract pricing and, where you allow it, credit terms.

Do you have a starter setup for our type of business?

Yes. Setup begins from a starter configuration for your trade — categories, units and typical attributes — which is then adjusted to your catalogue during onboarding.

We will run the demo using your product types, your pricing structure and your account terms — so you are judging it on your own business, not a sample one.
